Wow!  How long has it been?  What am I doing now?  Last time I blogged, I was looking for a job.  I think I did find a job.  I was working for Creepy Crawlers for a while.  And I worked for StarBucks for a while.

Now I'm back in school!  Studying Social Service Work!  I'm in my second year, and I'll be done in April.  I guess I'll be looking for a job again soon!

It's fun being in school again.  I like classes.  Relaxing.  I like the holidays too!  Right now, I'm on Christmas holidays which will last for three weeks.

Alright then.  It's been almost a year since I've made any entries.  I'm a little embarrassed at how earnest I sounded about my job search last March because I have not been looking!  I can't even explain where all the time went!  I can account for some of it, though.  Between June and September, I was in Hong Kong taking care of family things.  I was also there for about a month in December.  Other than that, I believe I've been here in Toronto not really looking for a job!

But that is all going to change!  Yesterday, I woke up early and spent a lot of my time looking for a job!  I think that took a lot out of me because today I woke up late and have spent no time looking for a job.  I guess I can't change my habits overnight.

However, I do feel I am beginning to accomplish things, and this is good!  When I came back from Hong Kong at the beginning of January, there were four things I needed to get:  new winter footwear, new phone, new car, new job.

Well, I have new boots, and that was not easy!  There are not a lot of size fives left in the middle of winter.  But I found 'em!

I also have a new phone!  It was not easy either because I am not a good decision-maker, and I had to decide between service providers.  But now I've decided!

Thursday evening, I'm going to testdrive cars with my brother.

And yesterday, I started looking for work!

And it all started with a pair of boots!

Now I need to find a way to stay motivated.  It really helps me to make a structured schedule the night before.  That's what I did yesterday.  However, if I end up sleeping in, like today, the schedule needs to be overhauled.  I'm not a good scheduler when I first wake up.  During that time, I may be the most unmotivated creature on earth --that includes sloths, koala bears, and those slimy things that just sit on the bottom of the ocean.

In addition, as time goes by, like next week, I will also get unmotivated on a more general level.  Still looking for solutions.  Open to suggestions.

So I'm back in Toronto again!  I spent the last two months in Hong Kong having too much fun.  I slept, ate, watched movies, watched TV, had lots of coffee and tea, shopped, travelled, and generally lived like a princess!

Now that I'm back, I'm questioning my decision to leave my idyllic lifestyle.  What was I thinking?

But onward!  I must search for a job and become a productive member of society!  No regrets here!  I'm sure this is the right move!  My half-hearted search for a job so far has consisted of web searches, that usually end in four to six games of solitaire.  I think Zee's spent more time looking for my job than I have.

But tomorrow is another day... wait a second.  Tomorrow is Saturday.  That's not a job-hunting day.  Neither is Sunday.  So Monday is another day -- the day I begin my job search in earnest!  I'll let y'all know how that goes!

  • I went back to LA on October 11.  While I was there, I got rid of all of my stuff!  I sold the car, got rid of the e waste, shipped the remaining stuff, and emptied my locker (for which I am most proud!!!).  It took a little longer than expected, but I got back to Toronto on November 20, after a short detour through Austin.

So that is over and done with!  The next time I go to LA will be totally for vacation and to visit friends!  No more moving and shipping!  Hooray!

The next thing I need to do is to find an apartment in Toronto and clean out the storage in my family's basement.  My plan is to clean out at least one box/drawer/shelf each time I go visit, starting with the stuff in the room that got most flooded.

Actually, before that, I need to unpack my luggage and organize my stuff here at my friend's house, where I'm staying now.  I have an unbelievable amount of stuff!  I need to learn to throw more things away.

    Anyhow, that's my summary.
